Confirm artwork and page bounds
The SVG viewBox describes the internal coordinate system while width and height describe the intended viewport. Confirm both before matching the PDF page to the artwork.
If the PDF page must follow A4, Letter or another physical standard, choose that page deliberately and use margins and fitting to position the vector artwork.
Resolve fonts and external resources
Custom fonts may substitute when they are unavailable to the renderer. Inspect text and font-family declarations, then compare the completed PDF.
Remote images and style sheets introduce network, privacy and reproducibility problems. Embed permitted assets directly.
- Check font families.
- Embed raster images.
- Remove remote CSS.
- Review gradients and transparency.
- Test clipping and masks.
Treat filters as a review area
Blur, drop shadows and complex filter graphs do not always have direct vector PDF equivalents. Keep the core geometry vector and review the affected elements closely.
Choose a white or custom page background when transparent artwork should not depend on the PDF viewer background.
Put the workflow into practice
Arrange source documents, select the pages you need, and create one PDF locally in your browser. Review the result before choosing any optional next step.

Clear answers before you merge
Does transparent SVG create a transparent PDF page?
An unpainted PDF page can retain transparent artwork, although most viewers display the page itself as white.
Should page size match the SVG?
Use matched bounds for artwork delivery and a standard page size when the PDF must fit a print or document specification.
