Reconcile source, selected and output counts
Record the source page count and selected-page count. The new PDF must reopen with exactly the selected number of pages.
The omitted count is a useful cross-check: source pages should equal extracted pages plus omitted pages.
Inspect order and boundary pages
Render at least the first and last extracted pages, then inspect transition points between non-consecutive source ranges. Confirm that custom ordering matches the intended reading flow.
For evidence or submission sets, compare each output position with its source page number before delivery.
Review links, forms and metadata
Links, bookmarks, form actions and cross-references can point to pages that are no longer included. Test the interactive features that matter in the target viewer.
Preserving descriptive metadata can help identification, but the title or subject may need to be changed when the extracted file has a narrower purpose.
Preserve signed originals
Extracting pages changes the PDF byte structure and ordinarily invalidates existing digital signatures. Treat the signed original as the authoritative record.
Name the extracted copy clearly and keep it separate from a certified or signed source.
Put the workflow into practice
Select exact pages visually or by range, choose their output order, then create and verify one focused PDF while preserving the source.

Clear answers before you extract pages
How does Nexynto verify the output?
It reopens the created PDF, confirms its page count and renders its first and last pages.
Should metadata always be preserved?
Preserve it when it still describes the extracted file accurately; otherwise update it in a dedicated metadata tool.
Will links and bookmarks still work?
Some may, but references to omitted pages can break or become misleading and require review.
Will a digital signature remain valid?
Usually not. Keep the signed source as the authoritative record.
