Confirm source and output counts
A pure reorder should keep the same page count. Duplicating or deleting pages changes that expectation, so record the intended output count before processing.
The output should reopen with exactly the number of positions shown in the final sequence.
Inspect moved transitions
Check the page immediately before and after every moved group. These boundaries reveal missing separator sheets, repeated pages and chapter headings attached to the wrong section.
Always render the first and last output pages because cover and appendix mistakes are easy to overlook in a dense grid.
Review interactive structure
Bookmarks, internal links, forms and annotations can rely on the original page tree. Test any interactive behavior that matters in the target PDF viewer.
Preserved metadata may still describe the document accurately, but update it separately when the reordered copy has a new purpose.
Protect signed originals
Rebuilding the page tree usually invalidates existing digital signatures even when the visible pages are unchanged.
Keep the signed source as the authoritative record and clearly identify the reordered copy.
Put the workflow into practice
Arrange source documents, select the pages you need, and create one PDF locally in your browser. Review the result before choosing any optional next step.

Clear answers before you merge
How is the reordered PDF verified?
It is reopened, its page count is checked and its first and last pages are rendered.
Will bookmarks still work?
Some may, but bookmarks and links require review after changing the page tree.
Will digital signatures remain valid?
Usually not. Reordering changes the PDF structure, so preserve signed originals.
Should I overwrite the source?
No. Download and review a separate reordered copy.
