Typed and drawn signatures are visual elements
Typed, drawn, and uploaded signature marks become visible PDF page content. Their appearance may communicate approval, but appearance alone does not cryptographically bind a signer identity to the file.
Nexynto Sign PDF supports these browser-local visual methods.
Digital signatures use cryptography
Certificate-backed digital signatures can detect document changes and can associate signing keys with certificate information. Their assurance depends on certificate validation, key custody, identity procedures, timestamping, and organizational policy.
A signature image placed on a page does not become a digital signature merely because the output is a PDF.
Choose based on the real requirement
Ask what evidence, identity assurance, retention, and validation your process actually requires before selecting a tool.
| Method | Useful for | Does not provide by itself |
|---|---|---|
| Typed visual mark | Clear names and routine approvals | Identity or integrity validation |
| Drawn or uploaded mark | Familiar handwritten appearance | Certificate evidence |
| Certificate-based signature | Integrity and certificate workflows | Automatic legal suitability in every jurisdiction |
Put the workflow into practice
Create a visual signature, place it with initials or dates on the required pages, and review every mark before exporting the signed copy.
